The Legend of Sanford Castle
This story is for youngsters,
Who’ve not yet fully grown,
The legend of a castle,
With love in every stone.
It shines each night in starlight,
And sparkles in the snow,
When children come to visit,
There’s much for you to know.
Just look for flags all flying,
On every tower’s top,
They signal you’ll find kindness here,
And love that never stops.
It’s Sanford’s special treatment,
You’ll find it everywhere,
We’ll chase away your worries,
Erasing every care.
Beginning with arrival,
And once you step inside,
You’ll find a world of secret things,
That spread out far and wide.
It’s Sanford Castle’s Kingdom,
A kingdom with five lands,
It holds a journey you can take,
Down streams and desert sands.
This place is strange and wondrous,
And everywhere you roam,
You’ll find yourself in distant lands,
Inside your Sanford home.
The Land of Deep Blue Waters,
It’s a place that you can find,
Where otters play all morning,
With children of their kind.
And Spotted Sunfish drifts along,
Down deep inside the pool,
He’ll answer all your questions,
Because fish swim in schools.
See Rushing River Valley,
Meet Turtle-Who-Just-Knows,
He’ll give you views of treasure,
In boxes we suppose.
Then look for Bear-as-Old-as-Hills,
He’s one good bear to know,
He’ll show you where the sun will set,
And places you can go.
Here’s Wide and Windy Prairie,
The place that cows call home,
Where eagles soar with falcons,
And herds of buffalo roam.
Our prairie dogs love tales that rhyme,
And if you’ll let them try,
They’ll read until you fall asleep,
Beneath the endless sky.
And here’s the wondrous Land of Nez,
A place that’s never cold,
Where caravans trek over sand,
And elephants’ tusks are made of gold.
Giraffes have necks that reach the sky,
With hefty rhinos trumping by,
We all would like a camel ride,
To go across the desert dry.
Enchanted Forest has tall trees,
Where kids can go to hide,
Because our trees have hollow trunks,
With places deep inside.
You’ll meet the Wolf Who Wanders,
But need not feel alarm,
He shepherds children through the woods,
And guards them from all harm.
Each land here has a story,
Each room a place to play,
And every child an animal friend,
To help you on your way.
If you’ve come to Sanford Kingdom,
And plan to stay awhile,
You’ll meet a special critter,
Who’s here to make you smile.
Sometime before you have to go,
Enjoy the fire in our Great Hall,
And write your tale of Sanford’s lands,
To share with parents, friends and all. |
